We were so very lucky to attend Ms. Self's (now Mrs. Milam!) wedding last night at the beautiful Blue Dress Barn on the west side of Michigan. The details and the site were gorgeous as were the bride and groom. We had a great time, met a ton of new people, danced and laughed all night, and enjoyed sleeping in while Bird stayed with my parents for the night. Here's the proof:

p.s. As the month comes to a close, I am very proud of us for sticking to our six. I fought with myself about what to wear to this wedding and whether or not I should break the experiment for this one event. I'm glad I stuck it out and didn't break because in the end, it didn't matter what I wore at all. That might have been the best lesson that I've learned from this whole experiment.

This past weekend we were supposed to have a BBQ for my women's small group, but unfortunately T caught whatever Bird and I had the week prior and we had to call it off. Fortunately for us though, the S's didn't get the message in time and stopped by anyway with their little girl. Baby SS is 5 months younger than Bird and it is just so crazy how fast they grow when you can compare them side by side. Here we have a little baby swap while we visited with them for a bit before they took off and we all rested for the remainder of the afternoon.

In the Photo Fridays - Week 6 - Saturday Morning Edition

I didn't have/make many photo opportunities this week so I had to wait until T and I went to our friends' wedding last night to get one.  This is us with the bride and groom, enjoy!

P.S. Yes you've seen that dress before. I love that dress and it will be my staple at weddings this summer because I'm still excited that I fit into it after having a baby!

In the Photo Fridays - Week 5

On our date last Saturday there was a little statue in a picnic area near the art center we went to.  I did my best to mimic her cute little pose. Judge for yourself.

Also, a shout out to Bird, since Sunday marked 6 months! Excuse my just woken up expression/appearance, but any chance to snuggle with my Bird for a photo I gotta take.

In the Photo Fridays - Week 4

A little late posting this one today and for good reason.  Today I got to spend the morning splashing around with Bird and some friends at the Splash Pad in a nearby city.  Since you've already seen us grace the blog in our bathing suits, I decided not to throw up a picture of that today.  Instead you get photos of my haircut!  See after the Splash Pad outing today my stylist friend M came over and gave this mommy a little style.  It may not look like much but I love it!  Enjoy!

I'm glad I got a new do since tomorrow T and I will be having our monthly date!  To celebrate our 1000th day of marriage we're headed to a local art center and grabbing some lunch while Nana (my mom) comes to hang out with Bird.  Then Sunday we get to celebrate Bird's 1/2 birthday...6 months already, where has the time gone.  Also, my mom, SIL and I are going to have a girls early dinner that day.  Jam packed weekend full of family and celebrations, just how I like it.

In honor of my friend AAD's 27th birthday today, my photo is from her recent visit home.  We got to visit with each other a couple times and this photo is from the night before she left MI to go to Baltimore to visit these nice folks. 

In The Photo Fridays: Week 2

T reads this blog occasionally to catch up on "our life" and will mention things he reads sometimes.

On Sunday, after we went to a friend's reception the night before, he showed me the following picture and said "This would be perfect for your photo challenge." I was taken aback that he was thinking of me and wanted to help me with something that I find important.  He took the initiative to get me from behind the camera and in front of the lens with Bird.

In The Photo Fridays

I decided to participate in a little challenge given by Meredith over at La Buena Vida yesterday.

Read here for a quick background on why she's decided to do this.  After a chat with T about my body image after having Bird and how I'm having a hard time dealing with some things, this challenge is right up my alley.  This challenge will also get me to start being in the photos instead of just taking pics of T and Bird.

Basically, every week until September 1st (at least, if this works, I may continue for longer) I will post a photo that I am in.
