4 less teeth

2 days post op and all I want to do is this:

Available here

T has been such a lifesaver these past couple days taking on full care of Bird and myself. He's been doling out my meds, making us all our meals, keeping Bird on schedule and sneaking a nap or two for himself along the way.

About the whole getting my wisdom teeth out situation: I made a big deal out of nothing. I'm recovering fine and despite the nausea from the pain meds, which seems to be cured by sleeping (darn!), things are pretty normal around here.

In other random news, we finally have a walker! Not as early as we first predicted, but our little Bird has surprised us and started toddling around on her own the last couple of days. Add to that her ever adventuresome nature and want to climb and jump off of chairs and I really have my hands full over here.

I can't believe Bird will be 1 in 10 days. Trying not to freak out.

Teeth: eruption, extraction, correction

Bird is teething. No one is sleeping.

I am missing a tooth. 14 of my teeth have fillings. You do the math.

I got a new cavity filled yesterday in less than 30 minutes. I was stunned by the dentist's speed and accuracy. I took the numbing needle like an old pro (see above.)

I am getting my wisdom teeth out January 6th. Sympathy e-cards can be sent here. I'm practicing my counting down from 10 to make sure I get it right at surgery time.

Dental update

I know you were just waiting to find out how I fared at the dentist today, right?

One new cavity. Just one. I was amazed myself.

That was the good news. The bad news, two of my others had to be fixed but they patched me up in the same visit, so I didn't have to make a separate appointment for that.

I have my x-rays and a referral for an oral surgeon so tomorrow, first things first, I'll set about to make an appointment to get my wisdom teeth out, or at least to talk to some one about it. I feel like I've been talking about it forever but what is one more conversation.

Tonight though, I feel as though I've been punch in the face from where I was numbed and my other side hurts a bit from the cleaning/cavity that needs to get fixed. Time for some Tylenol.

Diagnosis

Last year I was supposed to get my wisdom teeth out. They aren't an issue now, but two of them are half in/half out and could become an issue in the future. So I was told to get them out.

Then I got pregnant. Apparently you shouldn't be knocked out while knitting a person.

So the new plan is for me to get them out sometime before #2 is created.

I asked my friend Shannon for information on the oral surgeon she used to get hers removed, as she had recently gotten them done and raved about the experience. She sent me a link to Dr. Bonine in Brighton, MI and I went and poked around the site.

And found this. Perhaps the answer to why I want to rip all of my teeth out.

I'm sure that after my dental appointment next week, I'll have just the motivation (aka: cavity diagnosis and dental bills) I need to kick my sugar addiction.
