Silence, interrupted
I just had to share an "Amen!" moment when I read Jess's opinion post about the division and judgement that goes on between breastfeeding moms and non-breastfeeding moms. There has apparently been another social media explosion in the debate after Similac announced a recall on a small batch of their formula a few days ago. It's really sad how some mothers will get at each other when we are all just trying to navigate parenthood and make the best choices we can for our children.

I second that, v.4
Two weeks in the making, check out the stuff that I loved lately:
Gradgirl over at This Writer's Wallet tells a story of friends loaning money to one another and the not so favorable outcome...sadly I've been through this situation, my friend and I don't talk anymore due to the deception that came about from this situation...the moral of my story is the same as Gradgirl's, don't lend money, give it free with no strings.
Design Sponge showcases one of my favorite color combinations: Yellow and Grey
I'm still looking for a way in incorporate this combo into our house somehow...office, baby room (one day!), master bedroom...love it.
I'm more of a surprise flowers girl myself, but Joanna at A CUP OF JO displays a cute idea of 52 weeks of flowers that I wouldn't be opposed to. (T if you read this, no pressure!)
Now voyager shows a still from a skit by improve everywhere of a subway car filled with identical twins.
Confession: I love The Hills and I don't care who knows it...maybe its my years of living in LA that makes me love them, but I would have known the answer to this question about my old neighbors featured on Jeopardy.
More DIY stuff to try one day...this time a Sherry at This Young House shares how to upholster a headboard...I really like the green of the headboard in the guest room.
Have a great weekend. Mine will be filled with a bit of in state travel, friends, and an ice luge!

I second that, 3rd edition
I hope you all are having a wonderful Independence Day! I know I am because I'm not at work today, I'll be spending all afternoon with my wonderful husband, T, and tonight we're going to see fireworks!
Here are my favorite things that I found this week:
This post on Design Sponge about the site Colour Lovers....this site helped me to create the new header that now graces The Roost...let me know what you think of it, I love feedback...
Gather Little by Little writes about the cost of saving money at major stores like Walmart...T and I ran into this a while back at Meijer for our grocery shopping...we decided to pay a little more to shop at a smaller grocery store close to our house with less people and less chaos...
Fabulously Broke in the City discusses tailoring of clothes and some do's and don'ts...since moving back to my home state and having my mother so close by, I have started to take advantage of her sewing skills and having her tailor my clothes...
With wedding season upon us and the start of planning for AAD's nuptials, gifts are on the brain, along with gorgeous gift wrap also displayed at Design Sponge...
That's all for now...God bless America!

I second that, the second
Here it is, the second round of articles from my personal reader that I felt needed a second viewing...
Paid Twice (who btw is the one that clued me in on the concept of snowflaking) writes about using language as motivation...apparently its all in what you say...
Paid Twice also writes about the level budget plans that some utilities have and how they cost you more than if you just paid the varying amounts each month as they come...
My oldest brother sent me this article from the NY Times about 8th grade graduation ceremonies and formals and how this is too much for something that is supposed to happen...my favorite part is the quote from Barack Obama, “Now hold on a second — this is just eighth grade,” he said. “So, let’s not go over the top. Let’s not have a huge party. Let’s just give them a handshake.” He continued: “You’re supposed to graduate from eighth grade.”
One of my favorite visual pleasures is Obsessive Consumption where Kate drawings depict what she buys each day... here she is having a sale of some prints she has as she is moving and needs to clean house...
More to come next Friday...enjoy your weekend!

I second that, the first
I decided to show off anything that I found on the web that I liked during the previous week on Fridays, so here's my first installment of "I second that..." Enjoy!
The honesty from Forest about starting over was refreshing...
This article on batch processing on ProBlogger's site has made me re-evaluate some of my efforts at work...
I've always thought about this idea of invisible money and how it all is just a symbol for a number...I guess Frugal Finance did too...
This end of the road post at Debt Sucks makes me wonder how you get that far in...
I never think of gifts to get people until its too late...over at DEBT SMACK, she has a clever way to start gift lists...
I'm thinking of having a garage sale this summer and Finance Gets Personal had a great post with tips on how to have a successful one...
Stuff Christians Like has a list of Prosperity or 28 ways Jesus blings that made me laugh for quite a while...
That's about it...in for a long weekend with my in-laws up north...more on Monday.
